Reservations: All reservations are made based on the vehicle category, not for a specific model.

In case of non-availability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, Maistrali Car Rental reserves the right to provide to the customer a higher category car, at no extra charge for the customer.

Driver's Age: The driver must be at least 23 years old and maximum 73 years old. Drivers aged 21–22 years and 74–79 years may rent a vehicle upon payment of the applicable Young/Senior Driver Fee and subject to the terms and conditions of the Lessor.

Driving license: The Driver must have a valid original Driving license in physical form, issued at least a year ago. The driver must have a valid driving license or an international driving license for citizens of non-EU countries along with their regular driver’s license. In order to rent a 125cc or 200cc scooter you have to be 21years old and maximum 73years old and to have a moto driving license category A or A1 or A2

Helmet for scooter rental: A helmet is provided for the renters, according to the European specifications.

Traffic violations – Fines: All fines and penalties are on the renter’s liability.

Payment Methods – Security Deposit – Minimum Rental Period: For the completion of car reservation, a 40% prepayment is required to confirm the reservation. The prepayment can be done either with deposit at a bank account by IRIS Payment, by Paypal or by credit/debit card. The remaining amount of the rental, can be paid off upon car delivery by cash or credit/debit card. The use of a Credit/debit card is a necessary guarantee prerequisite for all Car Categories, regardless of the means of payment. The security deposit is to be prepaid, upon approval by the Lessor and the Renter. The preauthorised security deposit amount is determined by the Lessor based on the category of the vehicle, the rent, the duration of the lease and the period (low or high season). For all vehicle rental categories, the renter is required to provide a credit or debit card accepted by Lessor to cover any amount related to the security deposit and the prepayment of the rental fee. Even in cases where the rental fee is paid in cash, the provision of a credit or debit card remains mandatory for the payment of the security deposit. The security deposit amount shall be refunded to the Renter upon the expiration of the rental agreement, provided that no other claims or additional charges have been incurred. The refund process may take approximately fourteen (14) to twenty-five (25) business days, depending on the issuing bank of the debit or credit card.no other charges arise. The minimum rental time is one (1) full day (24 hours). In the event of breach of any term of the lease agreement, the security deposit or part of the security deposit will be forfeited to the Lessor. The renter and any additional driver will be liable for any other financial damage suffered by the company beyond the amount of the security deposit. Any delay exceeding one (1) hour after the initial 24-hour rental period shall be charged as one additional rental day.

Prepaid Reservations / Rentals Cancellation Policy (a) Renter cancelling the reservation 20days ahead of time of starting date of the reservation will be refunded the full amount deposited. (b) Renter cancelling the reservation between 19th day and 11th day before the starting date of the reservation will be refunded 50% of the amount deposited. (c) Renter cancelling or amend the reservation less than 10days before the starting date of the reservation, as also no show customer or those who cancel or amend the reservation during the rental, will not be refunded at all.

The vehicle will only be held available for up to two hours after the agreed collection time. The renter must contact us if he/she arrives after this time, otherwise the reservation will be cancelled.

INSURANCES

Basic insurance for cars: Third party liability insurance is provided in accordance with local legislation. In case of injury of thirds, third persons' property damages, personal driver’s accident.

Basic insurance for scooters: Third party liability insurance is provided in accordance with local legislation. In case of injury of thirds, third persons' property damages.

Collision Damage Waiver for scooters (CDW): The Customer's liability can be reduced to 400,00€ with extra daily cost of 7,00€. Valid only for accidents involving another vehicle. Any accident, damage, or other incident resulting from the renter’s actions, fault, or negligence is not covered.

For cars only:

Collision Damage Waiver for cars (CDW): The Customer's liability can be reduced to 900,00€ for car categories Α, S, Β, Β1, C1, D, E, G1, G2, GH with extra daily cost of 8,00€ and car categories CSUV, GSUV, F7D, J excess amount of 2.500,00€, with daily extra cost of 20,00€. Valid only for accidents involving another vehicle. Any accident, damage, or other incident resulting from the renter’s actions, fault, or negligence is not covered.

Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW): The Customer's liability can be reduced to 450,00€ for car categories Α, S, Β, Β1, C1, D, E, G1, G2, GH with extra daily cost of 12,00€ and car categories CSUV, GSUV, F7D, J excess amount of 1.500,00€, with daily extra cost of 35,00€. Valid only for accidents involving another vehicle. Any accident, damage, or other incident resulting from the renter’s actions, fault, or negligence is not covered.

Full Damage Waiver & Wheels / Underside and Glass (FDW+WUG): FDW limits the liability in case of accidents to €0 (Zero) in case of car accident for car categories Α, S, Β, Β1, C1, D, E, G1, G2, GH with extra daily cost of 30,00€ and car categories CSUV, GSUV F7D, J with daily extra cost of 70,00€. Valid only for accidents involving another vehicle. Any accident, damage, or other incident resulting from the renter’s actions, fault, or negligence is not covered.

A Young Driver Surcharge applies to drivers aged 21 and 22 years, provided they have held a valid driving licence for at least 24 months prior to the vehicle pick-up date.

Drivers aged 74 to 79 years may rent a vehicle upon payment of the applicable Senior Driver Fee, presentation of a valid driving licence, and subject to the Lessor's approval.

Insurance protections apply only in the event of a traffic accident involving another identifiable vehicle. Coverage is not valid for single-vehicle damage, incidents resulting from negligence, or cases without third-party involvement. In all other circumstances, the renter will be held fully liable and charged the total cost of the damage caused to the rental vehicle.

The renter is responsible for reporting any car accident, providing the full details of the other party involved, to the Traffic Police and the Lessor. Otherwise, the insurance cover (CDW, SCDW, FDW, WUG) shall not apply. Renter must provide Lessor with the Traffic Police report of the car accident and must fill out and sign an accident report upon return to our offices.

Exceptions in CDW, SCDW, FDW & WUG:

Charges for any of the damages written below will be charged directly to the client, the most important are the following: Antenna, trays, damage to car lock, loss or damage to keys, windshield wipers, interior of the car, spare key and car jack, hubcap, lights, gas cap, damage to upholstery of a car, damages to the roof, damages caused by roof rack and any luggage on it, extreme dirtiness in a car, personal belongings in a rented car, damage due to negligence, fuel errors, damage to child seats and baby seats, lack of electricity because of forgotten turned on electrical devices, loss of car documents, loss of registration plate. Maistrali car rental, in any case, is not obligated to replace a flat tire or damages in music devices (radio, CD/mp3 player, etc.). Maistrali car rental will not refund any telephone, taxi or hotel costs. Maistrali car rental will not be held responsible for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driver who is not stated in the rental agreement, causing willful damage, off road driving, non-asphalt roads, driving without care and attention or damages caused by negligence, and traffic violations. The renter will accept direct responsibility in respect of such claims. The renter must lock the vehicle every time that it is not in his attention, returns the vehicle at the same condition when the rental started. The renter must immediately inform Maistrali Car Rental about any damage or accident of the vehicle, between 24hours otherwise he is totally responsible for any damaged caused. The total amount concerning the damage or loss of the vehicle is paid directly by the renter to Maistrali Car Rental, even if the renter is covered by a credit/debit card insurance.

Road Assistance: Maistrali cars are covered by 24 hours roadside assistance. Road assistance’s contact details are stated on the insurance contract.

Personal Belongings & Valuables: The Company is not liable for personal belongings / Valuables that were stolen / lost from the vehicle or damaged during an accident.

Delivery/ Collection: To/from our Stations, port, airport: Free of Charge

Ship Transfer: Vehicle travel off island prohibited. No travel or transport off the island is allowed.

After office hours deliveries–collections: Our stations operate between from 09.00 to 21.00 hrs. After office hours Customer’s extra charge: 30€.

Additional driver: The charge for each additional driver is 4€/day. The maximum number of drivers is set at 4 persons. Additional drivers must present either passport or ID in addition to drivers’ license. Minimum/Maximum age restrictions apply.

Baby/child seat: The charge for baby/child child seat is set at 6€/day upon request by the customer and based on the company’s availability.

Fuel: The renter has to return the car with the same quantity of fuel it had when collected. In case the car is returned with a quantity of fuel less than the original (namely, less than the quantity of fuel the vehicle had when collected by the customer), the customer shall be charged with the fuel difference. No customer refund is provided in case of the car returned with a quantity of fuel greater than that collected.

Pets: No pets are allowed during rental period.
